Where is Canon Eye Clinic located and what are your opening hours?

We are at 89 Aka Road, by Kevin Street, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The clinic is open Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm, and Saturday, 8:00am to 3:00pm.

Yes. We are an NHIS / NHIA accredited facility, so eligible patients can access covered eye care under the national health scheme. Bring your enrollee details on arrival.

How much does a consultation cost?

Registration is ₦3,000, refraction is ₦2,500, and a specialist check up is ₦3,000. Full pricing for exams, glaucoma screening, contact lens fitting and other services is available on the pricing page.

What is the free Saturday eye examination?

Every Saturday between 8:00am and 3:00pm we run a complimentary screening for the community. No appointment is needed, just walk in and our team will see you in turn.

Do you see children?

Yes. We run paediatric eye exams from age three upward, using techniques tailored to children so the visit is calm and accurate.

Do you fit contact lenses and dispense glasses?

Yes. We carry a curated frame selection and fit both soft and specialty contact lenses. Fittings include selection, lens trial and a patient training session.

Do you screen for glaucoma and other eye conditions?

Yes. Glaucoma screening covers tonometry (contact or non-contact), visual field testing and optic nerve evaluation. We also manage dry eye, diabetic eye changes and low vision.

Is my eye gets dilated during the exam?

Dilation is recommended when a full retinal assessment is needed. It costs ₦3,000 and your vision may be blurry for a few hours, so plan to have someone drive you home.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Bring your current glasses or contact lenses, any previous eye reports, a list of medications you take, and your NHIS enrollee details if applicable.
